Apologies in advance if this entire post is just jet lagged nonsense. We are trying to stay awake long enough to go to bed at a “normal” time.

We went on a beautiful walk today and I didn’t take my camera, but I will next time. Really all you need to know is that there are mountains everywhere and everything is green and it smells like flowers everywhere you go (I brought lots of allergy meds).
Things we have done since landing:
- Made a lot of wrong turns in Zurich trying to find the freeway to home
- Got reunited with Coach!
- Went to the grocery store
- Asked for help with our internet and they sent someone to our house within an hour (!!)
- Took a casual afternoon stroll to the Swiss border
- Attempted laundry, but the machine just screamed for twenty minutes and didn’t get the clothes wet (or clean)
- Unpacked some clothes with the assistance of a very enthusiastic toddler
- Mumbled “holy shit, we live here now” twenty seven times
- Made a list of things we need from ikea

It’s really important to me that everyone reading this knows: Red Bull costs 0.45 CHF (about $0.50) here. A twelve pack costs around $5.
Another thing we learned at the grocery store is that the people of Liechtenstein seem to be really into tacos, which was a surprise, because they don’t have cilantro anywhere.

Someone near us has a barn with horses and goats and pigs and donkeys and rabbits. This person has also put up a lot of very aggressive signs about not feeding the horses. Except since I can’t read German, the only parts of the signs I understood were “DO NOT” and “WARNING,” and it was very intimidating.
We got home and translated one of the signs and … it actually makes a lot of sense why the signs are there since it’s just a barn on the side of the road where children walk home from school (UNATTENDED?!)

Everything echoes in our apartment because we have next to no furniture and it’s heated wood floors throughout (I’m not complaining).
Last but not least, there are no light fixtures. There’s just bare wires hanging from holes in the ceiling. Why? Idk.

Our lovely friends are coming over with dinner for us, because we could hardly figure out how to turn the stove on (actually they’re coming because they’re wonderful people, but the thing about the stove is also true).
I’ll take my phone or camera on tomorrow’s walk and update then!
